The tallest building in Kinshasa is the Tour de l’Échangeur de Limete which is 210 meters high. This tower was built between 1970 and 1974, based on plans by the French architect Clément Cacoub.
Wanting to provide Zaire with a distinctive monument comparable to the Eiffel Tower or the Statue of Liberty, President Mobutu Sese Seko had the idea of building this concrete tower located in Kinshasa, in the town of Limete.
Cost: $40
