Laurent-Désiré Kabila called ‘Mzee’ was President of the Democratic Republic of the Congo from May 1997 until his assassination in January 2001.
The mausoleum of Laurent-Désiré Kabila was erected in 2002 in Kinshasa. This mausoleum houses his coffin, protected by armored glass and covered with an imposing monument built to his glory. Huge lions and bronze hands supporting the building were erected on either side of the vault. And LD. Kabila himself dominates the whole, his finger raised.
